Week at a Glance: 1/20-1/26

Good Afternoon All,

We had a great showing at the tournament this past weekend in Colorado Springs. I am very proud of how we competed as a team. I am also very proud of how some newer members of the wrestling club competed and found success and experience more time on the mat. Our team is collectively getting better every single week and we can see that as we continue to compete and wrestle hard.

Home Tournament (Saturday Feb.1st)

Our home tournament is rapidly approaching and we are still in need of many volunteers. If you haven't already signed up to work the tournament through sign-up genius please get signed up ASAP. This is a huge fundraiser for our club and allows the CMWC to continue to move forward; therefore,  it is very important that we have a large number of volunteers to ensure that everything runs smoothly. If you haven't already done so, please bring a check for $20 made out to, Cheyenne Mountain Wrestling Club, to help out with purchasing items for our concession stand for the home tournament. This will act as the registration fee for your son or daughter to compete in the tournament, and more importantly it will help our program with purchasing groceries for the tournament. You can bring a check to practice or send it with your athlete and give it to a coach or to me. I will make a discount code for our home tournament for the registration and send it out next week. You will still need to register your athlete but will not be charged the $22 registration fee. We are also looking for a couple parents that could make breakfast burritos to sell in the morning at our tournament. Please reach out to me if this is something you are willing to do.

CMWC Information

Uniform Sizes:

I have attached a spreadsheet with everyone who has reached out to me thus far regarding their son or daughters uniform sizes. Please take a look at this to make sure that  what I have on there looks correct. If you do not see you son or daughters name on the list please get me those sizes ASAP! The deadline to have these in is October 14th 2019, so it is quickly approaching. If you don't get these to me for our first order, your son or daughter will surely miss multiple competitions without this gear! Please also understand that if you haven't at least paid the initial cost of $150 to have your wrestler registered for the CMWC 2019-2020 Season I will not be able to order the gear for your kid until you do, even if your name is on the uniform size list. This is because the cost for the uniforms is part of the registration fee. If you haven't already, please register your wrestler and email me their uniform size.

USA Wrestling Card:

You must have a USA Wrestling Card for your son or daughter before you are allowed to practice! This is who our insurance policy is through, so your athlete will not be allowed to step on the mat until you have one. You should all print out the card once you have it, as you will have to show the front desk workers at every Peak 2 Peak Tournament before you will be allowed to compete. I will also go through and print out all wrestlers cards that have gone through and affiliated themselves with Cheyenne Mountain Wrestling Club. Our first practice I will have a copy of every wrestlers USA Wrestling Card, and I really don't want to have to tell anyone that they aren't allowed to practice because they don't have it! The USA Wrestling Card can be acquired at www.usawmemberships.com. Thank you very much for your time, and as always please feel free to reach out with any questions.

CMWC Apparel Store

Hello All,

I have attached a link to the 2019-2020 Cheyenne Mountain Wrestling Club Apparel Store below. The store contains clothing items available for family members, as well as additional items for athletes if you so please. You can also see the 3 items that will make up our athletes uniform package. These items are; boys and girls singlet, competition fight shorts, and an under armor dry-fit t-shirt. Please DO NOT purchase any of these 3 items, as I will order the uniform package for each athlete myself. The fee for the uniform package is a part of the registration fee, so I will take care of ordering this. I have attached pictures of each item just to be safe. Any other clothing items you are more than welcome to purchase yourself!

The store is currently open, and the deadline to get any personal orders will be October 14th. Please send your sizes for each of the 3 uniform items to Coach Allgood at cmwcwrestling@gmail.com. The deadline to get these sizes in will also be on October 14th so I can get our order in and get things rolling! (P.S. the Under Armor dry-fit t-shirt runs a little large so I would suggest ordering a size smaller than what your son or daughter typically wears).
